I hotly debated if I should five this 5 stars. There is only one reason I docked a star. Short and long answers below:
Short answer: I LOVE this this product as a moisturizing treatment/leave-on mask. I only like this as a cleanser.
Long answer: as a hydrating product, a little goes a long way, and you will get a lot of value for your money. Using the suggested amount really does the job pretty sufficiently. It's a cool texture and feels very nourishing. Nightly I use this as my last skincare step and have petal soft skin in the morning. On weekends and occasional evenings, I give myself facials with EP’s Blue Cypress Oil, and layer it with this Fig Jelly. They are both so lovely and I actively look forward to using them.
As a cleanser it seems to work well (although I always double cleanse to ensure I cut through my sunscreen – not a criticism of this product in particular at all). However, I have to use a lot more than I want to in order to effectively use this as a cleansing balm. I find I have to put a bit of elbow grease in taking off my mascara, but I also suspect that might just be down to the Merit mascara being known for its stubbornness. To use this product on the daily for both a cleanser and a moisturizer will deplete the amount you are given in no time at all.
I do recommend trying this – my suggestion is to use this primarily for its hydrating and masking abilities, and only secondarily as a cleanser. This makes a truly excellent product to…
